Dr. Syed Munir Ahmad is working as an Associate Professor of Education at the Institute of Education and Research, University of Peshawar, Pakistan. In addition to his teaching and research responsibilities at IER, Dr. Ahmad has been leading University Public School, University of Peshawar as Principal of the School. It is a privilege and honor that Dr. Ahmad is the first proud alumnus as Principal of the School.
Dr. Syed Munir Ahmad has been a school and university teacher for the last more than thirty years. Dr. Ahmad earned his PhD from the University of Nottingham, UK. He has authored and co-authored around 50 national and international research papers. Dr. Ahmad has frequently been invited for conducting workshop and seminars on teaching methodologies, teaching practicum, communication skills, adult literacy and higher education. He has been on the research boards of public and private universities. In addition to his bachelor’s and master’s successful supervisions of around fifty researches, Dr. Ahmad has successfully supervised and completed six PhD and three MPhil research projects. His research interests are: Teacher education, primary and secondary education, leadership in education, home-school/parent-teacher relations, parental involvement in school, sociology of education, social justice issues, social and cultural capital, habitus and field in education, gender issues, interplay between religion and culture, status and power in education and society.
